Overcoming Departure of Loved One

When i thought i already overcome the passing away of my loved one, i just realised it is not so. 48 days has passed but i am still feel sudden sorrow when thinking of my late dear father. The emotion that comes faster than my thought often trigger sadness and much pain in the heart. When i was waiting in the bank, i thought of him who used to wait in the bank, when i sitting at the sofa, i look at the empty sofa where he used to sit. A simple trigger brought back all the memory, it is like pulling a string deep embedded but that simple pulling dig it all out. Yet, i can't let myself indulge in it, i have responsibility and obligation to fulfill. The reason i am writing all these is not to self pity myself. I want to tell myself that it takes time to overcome the sadness. And to remember it is not me who will feel like this, mom who is the other half can feel even more.  Hence, spend more time with those who are still living, share the pain and cheer each other up. So be strong and be encouraged knowing that thing happen for a reason and as Christian, Romans 8:28 is there to tell all things happen for good.

In short, to overcome grief:
1. Accept the reality and give yourself some allowance of time to settle down
2. Accompany those who are still living and be of good cheer to them
3. Always share with someone your sadness and the pain, never try to hide it or think you can handle by urself
4. If you are Christian, know that God is always there for you and He is in absolute control, He is your stronghold and your ultimate help. Pray therefore and seek comfort in the Words.

The sky is wide, have the heart as wide as the sky and you'll be fine anywhere anytime.
